Jan Marcus Posthuma (born July 11, 1963 in Dokkum ) is a former Dutch volleyball player .

Jan Posthuma played volleyball at DUC Sanitarias in his youth and moved to the Dutch first division team Animo Sneek in 1979 . In 1986 he moved to the top club Martinus Amstelveen . Here he was twice Dutch champion under coach Arie Selinger and twice finished third in the European Cup . In 1989 the middle blocker moved to the Italian league for top club Gabeca Montichiari , with whom he won the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1991 and 1992 . In 1992/93 Jan Posthuma played for Sisley Treviso and won the Italian Cup and the European CEV Cup . He then returned to Montichiari for one season and then played in 1994/95 at Volley Gonzaga Milan , with whom he finished third in the CEV Cup . Jan Posthuma then played one more season in Montichiari, where he ended his career in 1996.

Jan Posthuma played 352 times for the Dutch national team between 1986 and 1996 . He took part in three Olympic Games and won the silver medal in Barcelona in 1992 and the gold medal in Atlanta in 1996 . Another highlight was winning the World League in 1996 .
