Jan Schwiderek

Jan Schwiderek (born June 14, 1971 in Berlin ) is a German reporter and journalist .

life and career

Schwiderek was born in Berlin, where he also attended school. After graduating from school, he started working as a journalist. He dared his first steps into the general public with the report Mama, are we poor? Berlin children in need . This documentation should show how children of working-class families grow up in Berlin.

From 2009 to spring 2016 he worked for the Galileo magazine on ProSieben . Initially he started with his own section “Checker Knowledge”. Here he showed the audience how you can use cool tricks to make ordinary activities much more attractive and faster, for example climbing stairs or tying shoelaces. From 2010 it was also to be seen in other categories. In 2010 he took part in the Galileo Schlaflos experiment , which tested how long he could go without sleep. In autumn 2011 he took part in the attempt Galileo time travel , life in the Middle Ages without modern aids, where he reached the final.

As part of a Galileo report, he and the cruise shipAIDAbella ” got an entry in the Guinness Book of Records in 2010 . During his work as a Galileo reporter, Schwiderek also acted as a stunt man or test subject.

Schwiderek lives in his hometown Berlin.
