Jan Sobol (born May 22, 1984 ) is a Czech handball player . He is 1.85 m tall.

Sobol, who plays for the top French club Montpellier HB (back number 19) and plays for the Czech men's national handball team (back number 11), is mostly used on the right wing .

Jan Sobol made his debut in 2004 for the Czech top club HCB Baník Karviná in the Czech league. There he won the Czech championship in 2005, 2006 and 2007. As early as the summer of 2006, there were rumors that the aspiring right-winger was being courted by a top French club; in December - before the World Cup - Sobol announced his move to Montpellier HB . With Montpellier he won the French championship in 2008, 2009 and 2010.

Jan Sobol has so far played 94 international matches for the Czech men's national handball team , but is so far only second choice behind captain Jan Filip . Sobol also took part in the 2007 men's handball world championship in Germany, but only finished 12th with his team.
