Shad Venson Hamilton (born August 11, 1977 in Forest City ) is a retired American basketball player . Its positions are those of the power forward or center .

Hamilton also has Spanish citizenship.

Career

Venson Hamilton began his career at the University of Nebraska , with which he was named Player of the Year in the Big 12 Conference in the 1998-99 season .

In the 1999 NBA Draft he was selected by the Houston Rockets in 50th place, but decided to move to Italy, in the Lega Basket Serie A , where he played one season for Record Napoli . After half a year in Poland , at Prokom Trefl , he returned to Italy, and played the second half of the season for the second division Banco Populare Ragusa.

The following season he was, again in the Lega Basket Serie A, under contract with Sinteco Ferrara, before he went to the Spanish LEB , Unelco Tenerife, in 2002 , with whom he achieved promotion to the ACB league . 2003-04 he succeeded in doing the same with Lagun Aro Bilbao , whereupon Joventut Badalona signed him .

After a season with the Catalans, he moved to the then reigning champions Real Madrid , with whom he won the ULEB Cup and the Spanish championship in 2006/07 .
