Jan Sprünken

Jan Sprünken (born November 5, 1976 in Münster ) is a former German basketball player . The 1.93 meter shooting guard played 73 games in the basketball league , his strength being the throw from distance.

Career

Sprünken learned to play basketball in his hometown of Münster and played for the local UBC. In the 1997/98 season he played for VfL Bochum in the 2nd Bundesliga, then for two years with league rivals TSV Quakenbrück , before making the leap into the first division in 2000: He played for Telekom Baskets Bonn in the 2000/01 season , however, was only a supplement player. 2001 came the move to TG Schwelm in the second division. In 2004 he was involved in Schwelmer's promotion to the Bundesliga and was also an important member of the squad in Schwelm's 2004/05 Bundesliga season.

In 2005 he was signed by ratiopharm Ulm : With the club, he was promoted to the Bundesliga in his first season and then played for two years for Ulm in the highest German class. In 2008 Sprünken returned to his roots and joined UBC Münster , with whom he then rose from the second to the first regional league. After two years at UBC, he accepted the offer of BSV Wulfen in 2010 , which he reinforced with his experience and his qualities as a thrower in the regional league. As part of a semester abroad, Sprünken moved to Peru in 2011, where he played for PUCP Lima.
