Jan Steenbergen

Jan Steenbergen (* 1676 in Heerde ; † around 1730 ) was a Dutch woodwind instrument maker . He mainly made recorders and oboes .

Steenbergen's ancestors came from Heerde and Hattem . Unlike many professional colleagues who had fled areas threatened by war and arrived in Amsterdam as a woodwind instrument maker, he learned his trade from Richard Haka .

The most famous instrument from his workshop was in the collection of Frans Brüggen .
