Amanschol Bölekpaev

Amanschol Quanyschuly Bölekpajew ( Kazakh Аманжол Қуанышұлы Бөлекпаев , Russian Аманжол Куанышевич Булекпаев / Amanschol Kuanyschewitsch Bulekpajew * 1. January 1941 in Nowoischim, Kazakh SSR ; † 26. December 2013 in Astana ) was a Kazakh politician.

Life

Amanschol Bölekpajew was born in 1941 in the village of Novoischimka (now Novoischim) in what is now northern Kazakhstan . In 1981 he obtained a degree in mechanical engineering from the Agricultural Institute Zelinograd .

He began his professional career in 1958. He initially worked for various companies before going into politics in 1983. He was first deputy chairman of the Soviet district council of the city of Zelinograd and in 1987 he was head of the passenger transport department in the city administration of Zelinograd. In the same year, as chairman of the Executive Committee of the city of Zelinograd, he became head of the city administration. After Kazakhstan's independence from the Soviet Union and the abolition of this office, he remained at the top of the city. He became head of the city administration of the city, which has since been renamed Aqmola. In addition, from 1990 to 1993 he was a member of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the twelfth convocation. Only a few years later, in 1997, on the initiative of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Aqmola was made the capital of the country and renamed Astana. Bölekpajew lost his post as mayor of the city and was replaced by Aedilbek Schaqsybekow . From December 1997 to September 1999, he instead headed the city's customs office. From 1999 until his death he was a member of the Kazakh Senate . Among other things, he was a member of the Committee on International Affairs, Defense and Security and a member of working groups for international cooperation.

He died in Astana on December 26, 2013.
