Ässet Örentajuly Issekeschew ( Kazakh Әсет Өрентайұлы Исекешев , Russian Асет Орентаевич Исекешев / Asset Orentajewitsch Issekeschew * 17th August 1971 in Karaganda , Kazakh SSR ) is a Kazakh politician , he was from June 2016 to September 2018 Mayor of the Kazakh capital only Sultan ( until 2019 Astana) .

Life

Asset Issekeschew was born on August 17, 1971 in Karagandy. He graduated from Al Farabi National University in Almaty in 1994 . From 1999 to 2000 he worked in the Kazakh Ministry of Justice and from 2002 to 2003 he was a consultant for the Kazakh Ministry of Economic Affairs. Since 2003 he has been Vice Minister for Industry and Commerce before becoming Vice Chairman of the State of Kazyna Sustainable Development Fund in 2006.

Between 2007 and 2008 he was Marketing Director of Credit Suisse in Kazakhstan and then from February 2008 to May 2009 he was an advisor to Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev . In May 2009 he was finally made Minister of Industry and Trade.

After the dissolution of the Ministry of Industry and Trade in March 2010, he became Minister of the new Ministry of Industry and New Technologies and Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister.
