Altai Seidiruly Kölginow ( Kazakh Алтай Сейдірұлы Көлгінов , Russian Алтай Сейдирович Кульгинов Altai Seidirowitsch Kulginow * 15. January 1978 in Turkestan , Kazakh SSR ) is a Kazakh politician. He has been the mayor of the Kazakh capital Nur-Sultan since June 13, 2019 .

Life

Altai Kölginow was born in Turkestan in 1978 . He studied at Ahmed Yesevi University in his hometown and graduated with a law degree . He also graduated from the Academy of Public Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the University of Aberdeen where he obtained a Masters in International Business Law.

He started his career in 2001 at the Kazakh Prosecutor General. In 2003 he became Deputy Head of the Public Service Agency and in 2007 he moved to the Kazakh Ministry of Justice . Between 2007 and 2008 he was Deputy General Director for Legal Affairs at Alash Media Group. From 2010 to 2012 he worked in the administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. From February 2012 to April 2013 he held the post of Deputy Äkim (Governor) of Western Kazakhstan . On April 4, 2013 he was appointed mayor of the city of Oral . Since March 26, 2016, Kölginow was Äkim from Western Kazakhstan.

He has been the mayor of the Kazakh capital Nur-Sultan since June 13, 2019 .
