Jan Tinndahn (nicknamed "Jim" or "Big Jim", born January 27, 1961 in Zealand , Denmark ) is a Danish member of the Bandidos motorcycle club . He was president of the Danish chapter of the Bandidos and until June 2012 European head of the club. Tinndahn became known to the public as a participant in the Scandinavian rocker war in the 1990s.

Life

Jan Tinndahn, who is also called "Jim" or "Big Jim", is a trained mechanic, married and the father of - depending on the source - two or three sons. He lives in Sweden.

Rocker existence

In the 1980s, in addition to the internationally organized Hells Angels, many local motorcycle clubs were active in Denmark . Tinndahn was a member of the Morticians MC motorcycle club , which was renamed Undertakers MC and had friendly relations with the Hells Angels for a long time . When the Hells Angels began a strategy of suppressing smaller clubs in the early 1990s and the Undertakers (unlike other local clubs) did not want to subordinate themselves, a break occurred. Undertaker boss Tinndahn sought contact with the second large international motorcycle club, the Bandidos , which had not previously been active in Scandinavia. As a result of his efforts in 1993 the Undertakers MC became the Bandidos MC Denmark . Tinndahn later also became the European President of the Bandidos .

Nordic rocker war

From 1994 there were violent clashes between Hells Angels and Bandidos in Scandinavia, which became known as the "Scandinavian Rocker War". Several club members were killed and injured over the course of three years of fighting, including bandidos Michael Ljunggren and Jan Krogh Jensen . Both clubs had around 120 members each in Denmark, and there were also smaller chapters (or charter) in other Scandinavian countries. The clashes probably began as a distribution struggle in the drug scene. In September 1997, Hells Angels and Bandidos declared the end of the war. The respective club presidents Jim Tinndahn and Bent Svane “Blondie” Nielsen ( Hells Angels ) shook hands in front of the cameras with media impact . It was reported to the peace treaty u. a. from the Danish TV channel TV2 .

In 2008 Tinndahn was investigated for theft and aggravated assault. He was accused of stealing three racing bikes. Tinndahn was arrested on October 29, 2008 at the Bandidos clubhouse in Helsingborg .

car accident

On October 7, 2012, Tinndahn had an accident with his Audi Q7 in southern Sweden after a Bandidos party in Malmö due to excessive speed. Tinndahn was hardly injured, and Carlos Åkesson (34), a Bandidos brother, who was also in the car , suffered brain damage. Tinndahn was provisionally arrested by the police after the accident; clear traces of cannabis and cocaine were discovered in a drug test . Negligence and personal injury proceedings were initiated, which resulted in no verdict. Åkesson was in a coma for two years and died on December 18, 2014. After Åkesson's death, Tinndahn initially did not answer a police summons. It was feared that he had fled to a country without an extradition relationship. After a few months, Tinndahn turned himself in. When he was questioned, he stated that as an early retirer he would earn SEK 9,000 a month. He had no fixed address and the Bandidos leadership. According to police information from 2015, he was still a member of the Bandidos at the time .

Tinndahn's successor as President of the Bandidos in 2012 was Michael "Kokken" Rosenvold.

In 2014, Tinndahn appeared in the documentary “Biker Gangs” (Original; Outlaw Bikers ) of the Discovery series “Mythos and Truth” (Original: Codes & Conspiracies ), which was broadcast in Germany on September 7, 2014 on N24 .
