Thomas Huetlin
Thomas Hüetlin (* 1961 in Sigmaringen ) is a German journalist .
Life
Thomas Hüetlin grew up in Munich. He studied politics and literature at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . He also graduated from the German School of Journalism . In 1990 he headed the editorial department of Tempo magazine . He was then a Spiegel correspondent in New York and Berlin . He was best known for his sports reports, u. a. about Beckham and Kahn .
Hüetlin now lives in Berlin and London and is a Spiegel reporter.

Awards
- In 1997, he was awarded the Egon Erwin Kisch Prize for his work “Hier ist Totentanz” in Spiegel magazine .
- In 2009, Hüetlin, together with Beat Balzli , Klaus Brinkbäumer , Ullrich Fichtner , Hauke Goos and Christoph Pauly, was honored as Business Editor of the Year 2009 by Medium Magazin for their report on the American International Group in Spiegel magazine .
- In 2012 he received the Henri Nannen Prize in the Best Documentation category, in a team with Ferry Batzoglou , Manfred Ertel , Ullrich Fichtner , Hauke Goos , Ralf Hoppe , Guido Mingels , Christian Reiermann , Cordt Schnibben , Christoph Schult , Thomas Schulz and Alexander Smoltczyk , for the article A bombshell , published in Der Spiegel .
