Constantin Striebel (born January 26, 1993 in Laupheim ) is a German handball player who is currently under contract with the Australian handball club Sydney University Handball Club . The backcourt player is a former youth national player , has won the Oceanic Continental Championship and has taken part in the IHF Super Globe in Qatar twice (2014 and 2017).

Career

Constantin Striebel was born and raised in Laupheim , Baden-Württemberg . Striebel went through all youth teams of the HV Rot-Weiß Laupheim until 2012. Striebel was already in the squad of the regional league club HV Rot-Weiß Laupheim parallel to his last year in the B-Jugend. In the following, he received a double play right and was able to gain a foothold in men's handball for the first time at third division TSG 1864 Söflingen . In summer 2012 he moved back to his home club HV Rot-Weiß Laupheim.

In 2014 Striebel followed the call of the Australian team Sydney University Handball Club. In the Sydney Olympic Park he managed to win the Australian U21 Championship, with Striebel having a decisive role in the semifinals with 18 goals and in the final with 15 goals. He was also chosen as the top scorer with 44 goals in three games for the tournament's MVP . A few weeks later he won the Coupe of the Club Champions d'Oceanie , the Champions League of Oceania, on the island of New Caledonia with the Sydney University Handball Club . As a result, Striebel qualified with the Sydney University Handball Club for the IHF Super Globe 2014 in Doha ( Qatar ). He showed his best performance in the preliminary round match against FC Barcelona , which was clearly lost with 18:34 (12:15).

He has been under contract with HV Rot-Weiß Laupheim since the 2014/2015 season. In the summer of 2017 he moved again to Sydney University Handball Club. In Qatar , the handball player took part in the IHF Super Globe for the second time with the Australian champions and finished eighth.

In 2006 Striebel was appointed to the selection of the Württemberg handball association , from which he was included in the circle of deserving players in 2011. In 2009 he was nominated for the southern German selection of his year and elected to the All-Star-Team when the German handball association was screened. In 2009 Striebel was appointed to the German U18 youth national team and made his debut on July 8, 2009 in the international match against France .

The player studied at the WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management and completed a semester abroad at the International College of Management in Sydney ( Australia ). The back area player is currently doing his Master of Business Administration at Ulm University .
