Jan Tomaka

Jan Walenty Tomaka (born January 15, 1949 in Nowa Wieś ) is a Polish politician of the Platforma Obywatelska ( Civic Platform ).

Tomaka attended high school in Rzeszów . He then studied at the Cracow Mining and Metallurgy Academy , which he graduated in 1971. From 1971 to 1982 Jan Tomaka worked in the Voivodship Office of the Rzeszów Voivodship . At the same time he was from 1972 to 1982 in a water management company ( Przedsiębiorstwo Hydrogeologiczne ) in Krakow . From 1982 to 1990 he worked as a manager of a planning office for the melioration in Rzeszów. From 1990 to 1998, Tomaka was a councilor and mayor ( wójt ) of the rural community of Trzebownisko . From 1993 to 1994 he was still deputy voivode of the Subcarpathian Voivodeship . In 1997 he became head of the Voivodeship Association for the Stronnictwo Konserwatywno-Ludowe ( Conservative People's Party ). In 2001 he moved to the newly founded Platforma Obywatelska in the same position. From 1999 to 2000 he was Vice-Marshal of the Subcarpathian Voivodeship. In the parliamentary elections in Poland in 2001 , Jan Tomaka won a seat for the Sejm for the first time . He also managed to get into parliament in the 2005 elections and the early elections in 2007 . On April 2, 2011, he resigned from his mandate.

Jan Tomaka is married and has four children.
