Jan Verlinden (born March 8, 1977 in Mechelen ) is a former Belgian football player .
Career
society
Verlinden began his career at SV Aartselaar , then KV Mechelen and in 1995 he moved on to Club Brugge , where he made his debut on August 20, 1995 in the home game against SV Zulte Waregem . In the spring of 1997 he returned from Club Bruges to KV Mechelen and celebrated his professional debut for his former youth club KV Mechelen against Eendracht Aalst on April 20, 1997 . After the season he was relegated with Mechelen and became a top performer here. In the summer of 1999 he left Mechelen and moved to the neighboring country for FC Twente Enschede . In the Netherlands he only made 12 missions in a year and a half and returned to Belgium in January 2001, where he signed for SK Lierse . He had 7 missions by the end of the season and moved to Eendracht Aalst in the summer of 2001. Verlinden played 24 games in the season and moved to KV Mechelen in June 2002. After his return he played in Mechelen for four years and in 2007 moved to SK Kampenhout in the Eerste Provinciale . This was followed by further positions at SV Aartselaar , again at SK Kampenhout and at the end of his career at KSV Schriek .
National team
Verlinden played twenty times for various youth teams in Belgium. But he was never nominated for the senior national team .
Private
From 1998 to 2004 Verlinden studied sport on a teaching basis at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven .
