Jan Verwey

Jan Verwey (born February 24, 1936 in Vlissingen ) is a Dutch modern jazz musician ( harmonica ). "He masters the octave playing perfectly and has made it his trademark."

Verwey's harmonica playing brought in young autodidact in. Since 1982 he has released albums under his own name; he also worked with the Metropole Orkest , Hod O'Brien , Hans van Oosterhout and Michel Herr . He has performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival and at several North American festivals. He can also be heard on albums by Louis Andriessen , Denise Jannah, Colette Wickenhagen and Carola Vossen. He also works as an endorser for the Hering company .
