Jana Torneva

Jana Torneva (born January 13, 1973 in Sofia , Bulgaria ) is a German dancer and choreographer.

Life

Jana Torneva grew up in the Bulgarian capital Sofia as the daughter of a lawyer and a journalist. From 1980 to 1992 she attended the state ballet school in her hometown and received lessons in classical ballet dance, dance pedagogy and choreography . At that time she was already dancing at the Sofia State Opera in Swan Lake , The Nutcracker and Gisele, among others .

After taking the state examination, she came to Berlin in 1992 and was a member of the German TV Ballet for two years before moving to the Deutsche Oper Berlin as a dancer in 1995 . In 1996 Jana Torneva returned to the German TV Ballet of the MDR . In 2000 she became the ensemble's first soloist.

In 2007 she was a member of the jury to select the debutants for the Semperopernball Dresden . Since 2008 and with the foundation of Choreoagency , Jana Torneva has been working internationally as a freelance choreographer for TV, event and tour events. This resulted in projects with Katherine Jenkins , Paul Potts , Maite Kelly , Reamonn , Helene Fischer , DJ Bobo , Double Drums , among others .

Jana Torneva lives in Munich.
