The Janaplateau ( Russian Янское плоскогорье , Janskoje ploskogorje) is a plateau as part of the East Siberian Mountains ( Russia , Asia ).
geography
The Janaplateau lies in the area of the central reaches of the Jana in the northeast of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) , on both sides of the Arctic Circle. In the east it is framed by the foothills of the Tscherski Mountains and in the west by the Verkhoyansk Mountains . In the southeast the Janaplateau into the highlands of Oimjakon , with which it forms a tectonic unit , together also called Jana-Oimjakon-Hochland (Яно-Оймяконское нагорье).
The low mountain range Janaplateau mostly reaches heights of 450-800 m above sea level. NN . Some massifs rise up to over 1,500 m: the highest elevation is the Arga-Billjach massif (Арга-Биллях) with 1,770 m between Adytscha and its tributary Borulach .

The Janaplateau is formed by aleurolite and clay slate as well as sandstone of the Triassic , which are broken through by granite intrusions in the area of the highest elevations .

The Janaplateau is predominantly covered by light larch forests.
