Janar Mägi (born April 8, 1987 in Tallinn , Estonian SSR , USSR ) is an Estonian handball player who is mostly used on the left back .
The 1.96 m tall and 100 kg heavy right-handed player began playing handball in his hometown at HC Kehra , where he played in the first team from 2004. In 2006 and 2009 he won the Meistriliiga and in 2005, 2006 and 2009 the cup. Internationally, he played in the 2004/05, 2008/09 and 2009/10 EHF Cup , the 2005/06 and 2006/07 European Cup Winners' Cup and the 2007/08 EHF Challenge Cup , but never got past the third round. In the summer of 2010 he moved to the German second division club EHV Aue . After the 2017/18 season he left Aue.
Janar Mägi is part of the Estonian national team and has played 70 international matches so far .
