Jane Alexander (bishop)
Jane Alexander (born March 29, 1959 in England ) is a British - Canadian bishop of the Anglican Church of Canada .
Life
Alexander grew up in England and attended Brunts Grammar School in Mansfield . Alexander studied Anglican theology at Newcastle University and Education and Psychology at the University of Alberta in Canada, where she worked as a professor of educational psychology after completing her doctorate in 1996. After obtaining a Master of Theological Studies degree in 2001 , she was ordained an Anglican priestess and worked in various clerical offices, from 2006 as dean in Edmonton and rector of All Saints' Cathedral in Edmonton. In 2008 she was at the All Saints' Cathedral in Edmonton byJohn Robert Clarke ordained bishop. As the successor to Victoria Matthews , she was installed on May 11, 2008 in the Anglican diocese of Edmonton as bishop.
