"Baby" Jane Holzer (* 23. October 1940 as Jane Brook Field in Palm Beach , Florida ) is an American actress , model and former Andy Warhol - "Superstar".

Jane Brookenfeld comes from a wealthy family. Her father Carl Brookenfeld was successful in the real estate business. Although Jane grew up in Florida, she still spent most of her time in New York . After finishing high school, she started working as a model. She became known with a series of photos by the British star photographer David Bailey for the English edition of Vogue 1963. After her marriage to the real estate heir Leonard Holzer, she moved to New York and lived in a 12-room apartment on upscale Park Avenue . Jane met Warhol at an event organized by the well-known New York store Bloomingdale’s . He invited her to appear in one of his films. TheirShe was nicknamed "Baby Jane" by society columnist Carol Bjorkman as a reference to the Robert Aldrich film What Really Happened to Baby Jane? (What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?) From 1962. Baby Jane Holzer appeared in many Warhol productions and was a welcome guest at the Factory's parties . In contrast to many other "superstars", her connection with Warhol never completely broke off, although she distanced herself from the scene after the drug excesses in the Factory and the assassination attempt on Warhol in 1968. Jane Holzer now runs an ice cream shop in Florida called Sweet Baby Jane (based on a song by Lou Reed ) and works in the film and real estate business.
