The Jane River is a river in the southwest of the Australian state of Tasmania .

River course

The river has its source on the Lightning Plains in the center of the Franklin Gordon Wild Rivers National Park and initially flows east. Then the river describes a semicircle around the Surveyor Range and flows so first to the south and then to the west. It flows into the Franklin River about two kilometers northwest of Goodwins Peak .
