Social Entrepreneurship Academy

The Social Entrepreneurship Academy was founded in 2010 and is a network cooperation between the four Munich universities and their adjacent entrepreneurship centers. With an interdisciplinary approach, she drives social change under the motto "Education for Societal Change". To this end, it promotes social start-up projects, offers a study or part-time qualification program, as well as further training and further education opportunities and promotes the development of a broad network to anchor the topic of social entrepreneurship .

The offers of the Social Entrepreneurship Academy are aimed at prospective social entrepreneurs, students, young professionals, companies and social organizations who are interested in further training offers in the field of social engagement and innovation and who want to implement specific projects. The topics of environment, society, social affairs and education are among the central fields of action of the Social Entrepreneurship Academy and are reflected, for example, in the educational offer and the objectives of the cooperation partners.

The Social Entrepreneurship Akademie u. a. by Falk F. As an independent social enterprise, social entrepreneurship should become economically independent in the long term through a mixed financial model. The Social Entrepreneurship Academy is a member of the Social Entrepreneurship Network Germany .

The Social Entrepreneurship Academy aims to promote social innovations by combining social thinking and entrepreneurial action. This includes providing information and orientation, imparting knowledge and qualifications, support with start-up projects, creating space for ideas and experiments and opening up a network of like-minded people and support partners.

The offers include the Social Innovations certificate program , which starts every winter semester , in which students and young professionals are qualified in a two-year educational program in social entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship. Idea scouting and start-up advice in all phases of a (social or ecological) business start-up are the second core brand of the Social Entrepreneurship Academy. The start-up funding and advice is not limited to students and members of the universities. The Social Entrepreneurship Academy offers companies, foundations and other organizations advice on topics such as Social Reporting Standard (SRS), sustainability or Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

In addition, the Social Entrepreneurship Academy organizes the annual Global Entrepreneurship Summer School in Munich, in which around 35 international participants develop business ideas for solutions to global challenges in one week - in 2013, for example, on the subject of "Rethinking Education". Together with the Vodafone Foundation Germany, the Social Entrepreneurship Academy is awarding the Act for Impact funding program for social start-ups who create more equal opportunities in the field of education and integration, and awards the most valuable funding award in this area in Germany. She also helps organize public lecture series on social issues.

Awards

In 2010, the Social Entrepreneurship Academy was awarded 190,000 euros for its cooperation model by the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft and Stiftung Mercator as the winner of / within the framework of the competition “More than research and teaching - universities in society”.

In February 2012, the Social Entrepreneurship Academy received the award as “Selected Location” in the nationwide competition “ 365 Landmarks in the Land of Ideas ”.

The certificate program of the Social Entrepreneurship Academy was awarded by UNESCO in 2012.
