Janina Hollich

Janina Hollich (* 1988 in Mannheim ) is a German vocal teacher and singer specializing in alto and mezzo-soprano .

Life

Hollich began her vocal training at the age of 16. In 2009 she began her studies with Gerhild Romberger at the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold in the subjects opera / concert and vocal education. There she sang in 2011 for a recording of Carl Reinecke's Sleeping Beauty. In 2013 she obtained her bachelor's degree and completed her studies with the concert exam in 2017. Also in 2017, Hollich and the pianist Yangfan Xu were awarded the 2nd prize at the International Lied Duo Competition Rhein-Ruhr .

During her student days, Hollich sang the operatic roles Third Lady in Mozart's Magic Flute , Hansel in Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel , Olga in Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin and Lucretia in Britten's Desecration of Lucretia . She attended master classes with Ingeborg Danz , Margreet Honig and Thomas Quasthoff .

In 2017 Janina Hollich sang with the American soprano Megan Marie Hart under the direction of Lutz Rademacher in Gustav Mahler's Resurrection Symphony . The monumental work was performed for the first time in the Ostwestfalen-Lippe region at Rademacher's instigation .

Hollich also appeared in concerts in Mendelssohn's Elias , Bach's Christmas Oratorio , Rossini's Petite Messe solennelle and Mozart's Requiem .

Hollich has been teaching singing at the Detmold University of Music since 2018.
