Janina Wellers

Janina Martina Wellers (after marriage to Wellers-Wodny ) (born September 11, 1988 in Georgsmarienhütte ) is a former German basketball player .

career

Wellers made the leap into the women 's division at Osnabrücker SC , she played for the OSC in the 2nd Bundesliga. In July 2006 she took part in the U18 European Championship in Tenerife  and came to 6.0 points per match for the German selection.

In 2008 the 1.80 meter long winger moved to TV Saarlouis in the 1st women's basketball league . She won the German championship and the cup competition with the Saarlanders in 2009 and 2010, and in addition to her appearances in the Bundesliga, she also gained experience in the European Cup. In 2011 she went back to Osnabrück and played again for the OSC and in the meantime for the second division TSV Quakenbrück . After being relegated to the Bundesliga with Osnabrück in 2014, she rose again to the top German division with the club in the 2014/15 season and relegated again in the spring of 2016. In mid-January 2017 she moved to the Osnabrück TB within the second division. Wellers played there until the end of the 2016/17 season.

Professionally, she worked as a competitive sports consultant for water polo at the German Swimming Association .
