Janine Kohlmann (born November 28, 1990 in Düsseldorf ) is a modern pentathlete from Germany .

Athletic career

Kohlmann started modern pentathlon at the age of nine. At the age of 17 she was able to achieve her first major successes in the adult sector with a silver and a bronze medal at the World Championships in Berlin. A year later she became vice European youth champion. From 2009 she focused primarily on the adult sector and became German champion for the first time and, together with Lena Schöneborn and Eva Trautmann, world champion in the team.

She almost completely missed the 2010 season due to an injury, but became an integral part of the German World Cup team again in 2011. A year later she achieved her best individual placement to date with 5th place at the World Cup in Hungary, but still missed qualifying for the Olympic Games. In Rome she became world champion with the German relay.

In the following years she also competed regularly in the German World Cup team and at World and European Championships. In 2013 she repeated the 5th place in the individual final at the World Cup finals in Russia. A year later she became European champion in the team together with Lena Schöneborn and Annika Schleu .

In May 2015, Kohlmann was nominated by the German association for the World Cup in Berlin (June 29 to July 5), where she and the team became vice world champion.

Life

Kohlmann completed her school career in 2009 at the Quirinus-Gymnasium Neuss with a high school diploma. She is currently a police commissioner candidate at the Brandenburg State Police .
