Janusz Makowski

Janusz Makowski (born March 18, 1912 in Kalisz , † 1972 ) was a Polish journalist and Roman Catholic politician . He was a member of the Sejm of the People's Republic of Poland in the 3rd, 4th and 5th electoral terms.

Life

After visiting the elementary school he attended the grammar school " Ignacy Paderewski " in Poznań , and then he took a humanistic studies at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan on, graduating as a journalist. In 1936 he was employed by the magazine " Głos Narodu " ("Voice of the People", or more specifically - the "Nation"), which was published by the priest Piwowarczyk . Then he worked for the Warsaw press. During the Second World War he participated in the underground movement against the German occupiers with publications of the Polish resistance.

After liberation from the Nazi regime and the re-establishment of People's Poland , he worked in the state administration until 1963. From 1957 to 1961 he was elected to the Voivodeship Council. From 1957 he was a member of the " Christian Social Association " and at the same time was its president in the Wielkopolska department until 1963 . In 1963 he was elected General Secretary of the Christian Society. In the same year he obtained a mandate for the Sejm of the VR Poland in the III. Election period for the Gniezno area . He had a seat in the commissions for domestic trade and light industry , as well as trade and cooperative work. In 1965 he was re-elected in the same constituency, and he was now a member of the Foreign Policy Commission . From 1969 to 1972 worked as a member of parliament for the constituency of Gniezno, at the time of the fifth electoral term in the commissions for economic planning , budget and finance as well as foreign policy.

Makowski worked in the Christian Peace Conference (CFK) and took part in the II to IV All-Christian Peace Assembly (ACFV) in Prague .

In 1964 he was awarded the Cavalier Order " Order of the Rebirth of Poland ".
