The Japanese toad lily ( Tricyrtis hirta , Syn. : Tricyrtis japonica ), and Japan Toad Lily , Tiger Star or Borstige Krötenlilie called, is a kind from the family of the lily family (Liliaceae).

description

Japanese Krötenlilie is an upright prone to weakly growing perennial herbaceous plant can reach up to, the plant height of 100 centimeters. The stems are weakly branched, the pointed leaves are hairy.

The one to three star- to funnel-shaped flowers reach a diameter of up to 5 centimeters, are in clusters and grow from the leaf axils. The bracts are 2.5 to 3 inches long, of a white base color and speckled with purple dots. The flowering period extends from September to October.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 24-26.
