The Yaroslav Mudry ( Russian Ярослав Мудрый ) is a Russian frigate . She belongs to the Neustraschimy class . The ship is 130 m long.

It is named after Yaroslav the Wise , Grand Duke of Kiev . The keel was laid in 1990 in the Jantar shipyard near Kaliningrad . A lengthy break in construction between 1994 and 2002 also made it necessary to revise and update the technology.

The armament includes anti-ship missiles ( SS-N-25 Switchblade ), anti - aircraft missiles and a 100 mm gun for general purposes ( AK-100 ). The crew consists of 210 people, including 35 officers . The ship is stationed in the Baltic Sea .

The maiden voyage began on June 19, 2009. At the end of 2011, the ship was in the Moray Firth in northern Scotland. In December 2012 the ship was used off Syria . In November 2014, the ship cruised northeast of Australia in a formation .
