Jasmine Henrietta Pereira (born July 20, 1996 ) is a New Zealand soccer player who played 25 games for the New Zealand national team .

Career

National team

In April 2012, Pereira took part with the U-17 team in the U-17 Women's Oceania Championship in 2012 and scored four goals in the second group game in a 13-1 win over New Caledonia, including 1-0 in the first minute. In the last group game against Papua New Guinea, they scored two more goals at 9-0, including the last goal in stoppage time. With that she was the top scorer of the tournament with six goals together with her teammate Hannah Carlsen . With the victory in the championship, the team qualified for the U-17 World Cup for women in 2012 in Azerbaijan . There the young New Zealanders met stronger opponents. After three defeats, New Zealand was eliminated from the bottom of the group.

Two years later she took part in the Women's U-20 Oceania Championship in 2014 in her native New Zealand. Pereira was used again in all three games but only scored two goals. But since their teammates weren't stingy with goals either, New Zealand was able to win this championship and qualify for the 2014 U-20 Women's World Cup in Canada. There, New Zealand took second place behind European champions France in the group stage and thus reached the quarter-finals for the first time in a World Cup. But here came the end against the later vice world champion Nigeria. Two months later she took with the senior national team of New Zealand at the OFC Nations Cup Women 2014 in part, New Zealand is in for the football World Cup Women 2015 qualified. In the third group game against the Cook Islands she was substituted on in the 59th minute when the score was 9: 0 (final score 11: 0) and so came to her first international match. On May 14, 2015, she was appointed to the squad for the 2015 World Cup . She was substituted on in two of the three group games after which New Zealand was eliminated. On November 28, 2015, she made her first start in the 1-0 win against Brazil . In July 2016, she became the youngest New Zealander to join the 2016 Olympic Games. It was also used in the defeats against the USA and France.

In March 2017 she took part in the Cyprus Cup with the national team, was used in the four games and scored her first international goal on March 8 in the game for 9th place against Hungary. After that, however, she was no longer used and in May 2017, at the age of 20, she resigned from the national team for financial reasons.
