Jasper Philipsen (born March 2, 1998 in Mol ) is a Belgian cyclist .

Career

As a junior driver, Philipsen was Belgian champion in the individual time trial in 2015 and 2016 . He started twice as a junior in road world championships and was sixth in the individual time trial in 2016 .

In his first year among adults, in 2017, he won the Triptyque des Monts et Châteaux stage race and the U23 edition of the classic Paris-Tours . He then received a contract with the US professional Continental Team Hagens Berman Axeon for the 2018 season . This year he won the Triptyque des Monts et Châteaux for the second time and his first race hors categorie with a stage of the Tour of Utah .

Philipsen then moved to the UCI WorldTeam UAE Emirates for the 2019 season . In his first race for this team, the 2019 Tour Down Under , he won the fifth stage in the sprint after Caleb Ewan , who crossed the finish line first, was distanced from headbuttons against him.
