Foundling Jastor
The boulder jastor is a granite - boulder near the Port of Sassnitz in Sassnitz in the Vorpommern-Rügen in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern .

The granite monolith, originally found in the harbor basin of the Sassnitz-Mukran ferry port , is today together with two smaller boulders on a meadow at the approach to the ferry port. The 91-ton boulder was initially relocated in the harbor basin in 1986 and recovered on August 17, 2002 in front of the ferry port entrance. The 4.3 meter long, 3 meter wide and 4.2 meter high boulder has been designated as a geotope by the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania State Office for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Geology since 2003 .
The Jastor is the seventh largest known boulder on the island of Rügen . Consisting of Precambrian Hammer - Syenogranit existing boulder comes originally from the northwest of the island of Bornholm , and during the last ice age in the Pleistocene with the glaciers from Scandinavia been transported to Northern Germany.
