Jauhen Bjalassin

Jauhen Aljaxandrawitsch Bjalassin (born June 9, 1954 in Hrodna ) is a Belarusian Germanist, translator and journalist.

Life

Byalassin was born on June 9, 1954 in the village of Grynjawitschy, Svislach District, Hrodna Oblast of the BSSR . He graduated from the Minsk Educational Institute for Foreign Languages ​​(1975). From 1979 to 2001 he was a teacher of foreign languages ​​and literature at the Brest State Pedagogical Institute (later university). Bjalassin is the first teacher at the Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​at Brest State University (1994). From the 1990s to 2000s, he was the director of the Brest branch of the Belarusian Humanitarian Center for Education and Culture. Bjalassin has been banned from practicing his profession since 2001 due to his political activities. Since 2001 he has been working as a freelance Germanist, journalist and poet. He translates from English, Polish and other languages ​​into German.
