Javier Mendoza (* 5. March 1991 in Tijuana , Baja , Mexico ) is a Mexican professional boxer and current world champion of the Association IBF in the light flyweight .

Professional career

Mendoza won his first two professional fights, boxed only a draw in his third fight and suffered his first bankruptcy in his sixth fight. On May 12, 2010 he was able to win the vacant WBC Continental Americas Title with a technical knockout in round 4 over Osvaldo Ibarra , but suffered his second defeat the following year.

In February 2012, he knocked out his compatriot Armando Vazquez in a 12-round battle in the 7th round and won the WBC Continental Americas Title for the second time . Two years later he met Ramón García Hirales . This dispute was about the vacant IBF world championship title. Mendoza was able to win this fight by unanimous decision. In 2015 he was able to defend this belt against the Philippines Milan Melindo (32-1-0-).
