Lukas Benjamin Klotz (* 1976 in Regensburg ) is a German pianist .

Life

Lukas Klotz is the son of the musician Udo Klotz and the painter and musician Roswitha Klotz , née Spaeth.

education

From the age of five, Klotz received piano lessons, then cello and violin lessons from Karl Kula . He graduated from high school at Von-Müller-Gymnasium in Regensburg, where he chose music as one of his advanced courses. Even as a teenager, he was successful in participating in the Jugend musiziert competition .

Professional pianistic training began with studying at the Munich University of Music and Theater with Klaus Schilde , Franz Massinger and Margarita Höhenrieder . This was followed by studies at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg with Karl-Heinz Kämmerling and then from 2003 with Homero Francesch in Zurich . He graduated with diplomas in concert and music education .

Musical work

Klotz had concerts and tours in Germany, a. a. in Gasteig , and in other European countries. As early as 2003, the German Cultural Council saw him among the ten most successful young pianists of the year on an international level. He received a scholarship from the Richard Wagner Foundation Bayreuth and is supported by Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now . He has received numerous awards, including several times in international competitions with the first price and the Primo Premio assoluto , including the Concorso Internazionale Musicale `Paul Harris in 2005 '- Dino Ciani 2003 of by the pianist Dino Ciani named Associazione Musicale Dino Ciani in the Category "Piano". In 2005 he received the cultural sponsorship award from the city of Regensburg .

Teaching

Klotz taught at a high school in Regensburg and teaches piano at the University for Catholic Church Music and Music Education in Regensburg .

Today he lives in Munich and teaches piano there as a member of the Munich Tonkünstlerverband . He also teaches piano at the Von-Müller-Gymnasium in Regensburg, where he leads the master class for piano and chamber music he founded. Munich is now his adopted home.
