Jaxartosaurus is a little-known dinosaur from the hadrosaur family, which is only known by a single skullcap including a brain skull. The only valid species is Jaxartosaurus aralensis . The second species described, J. fuyunensis, is considered the noun dubium .

Jaxartosaurus had a shortened, laterally arched frontal bone . The frontal bone, the prefrontal and the lacrimal bone were grooved to form a base for the nasal bone, as in other hadrosaurs. The frontal bone was not part of the anterior border of the eye socket . The skull crest typical of hadrosaurs was extremely short.
