Jay Lozada

Jay Lozada , actually Víctor Lozada, also known as “ Nuevo Sonero de la Salsa ” or “ Salsero de la Mata ”, is a Puerto Rican salsa musician .

Career

Jay Lozada was born in New York City . He is the brother of the famous rap musician Vico C (Luis Armando Lozada). When he was eight years old, his parents returned to Puerto Rico . Lozada completed a business degree at the Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico. Then Lozada returned to the United States. In addition to his hobbies of baseball and basketball , Lozada was very interested in music from an early age. Jay Lozada was a member of numerous bands such as La Mezcla and Tercera Generación. In 1996 they released the radio hit "No Hay Problema", among others. He gained attention as a solo artist and built a bridge between the salsa music of different generations in the course of his work. He was strongly influenced by musicians such as Marc Anthony , Gilberto Santa Rosa , Victor Manuelle , Luis Enrique and Eddie Santiago . His first hit in 2001 was "Por Amarte Así". For hits like “La Gran Señora” and “Si No Llegas” Jay Lozada was nominated for the “Artista Revelación del Año” Tropical Salsa and Lo Nuestro Prize 2002. His music became popular in Puerto Rico, New York, Miami and Chicago .
