Victor Manual

Victor Manuelle (born September 27, 1968 in the Bronx , New York City ), actually Víctor Manuel Ruíz, is a salsa musician of the younger generation from Puerto Rico , who is also known under the name " El Sonero de la Juventud ".

Victor Manuelle was born in New York, but spent a lot of time in Añasco and Isabela in Puerto Rico, the home of his parents. He began his singing career at a high school graduation party with salsa superstar Gilberto Santa Rosa . Victor Manuelle represents the style of Salsa Romántica (also Salsa Monga), but also experimented with other musical styles such as the Colombian Vallenato or Reggaeton . Unlike other salsa artists of his generation, such as Marc Anthony , Manuelle did not sing songs in English and did not produce any Latin pop albums. In 2009 he replaced Marc Anthony at the top of the number one title on the Billboard for Tropical Songs. Today Victor Manuelle is one of the salsa artists with the highest sales of over a million records. His studio albums Inconfundible (1999), Instinto Y Deseo (2001) and Travesía (2004) reached high positions on Billboard's Overall Top 200 Albums chart. Several of his singles grouped in positions five to ten, Tengo Ganas (2004) made first place on the Billboard Latin Hits. In 2003 he sang her title La Vida Es Un Carnaval at the funeral of the singer Celia Cruz and was therefore shown very often on Spanish-language TV channels. In 2006 Victor Manuelle received the Latin Grammy for his artistic work . In 2007 Manuelle played a role with Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez in the film El Cantante , a film adaptation of the life of Rubén Blades and in a biopic about the salsa artist Héctor Lavoe. In 2010 he won the Premio Lo Nuestro Award together with the singer Ana Bárbara.
