Jay Tavare
Jay Tavare (born June 18, 1968 in the Navajo Nation Reservation , Arizona ) is an American actor from the Western Apache people . In addition to his work as an actor, he is committed to supporting the Indians on American reservations.
origin
Jay Tavares mother is a member of the White Mountain Apache ( Dzil Łigai Si'án Ndee , "People of the White Mountains"), a group of the Western Apaches; his father is Navajo . However, since both peoples were matrilocal (the man moves to his wife's family and their settlement at the wedding) and matrilineal (the descent is determined by the woman's family) socially, it is therefore correct to call Tavare the Western Apaches.
