Jay Webber Seaver
Jay Webber Seaver (born March 9, 1855 in Craftsbury / Orleans County , † May 5, 1915 in Berkeley ) was an American physician and pioneer of anthropometry .
biography
Jay Webber Seaver was the second of five children to William Seaver and Betsy Urie. He studied at the medical school at Yale University , where he later taught as a professor. He took his body measurements on thousands of students in the Chautauqua area and published his research in Anthropometry and physical examination. A book for practical use in connection with gymnastic work and physical education.
Seaver married Leona Nancy Sheldon Sullivan on July 1, 1886. His body was interred in the Chautauqua cemetery on the main road to Jamestown.
