Je m'appelle Barbra is a music album by Barbra Streisand .

history

Je m'appelle Barbra is the eighth studio album by Barbra Streisand. For the first time she worked with the French composer Michel Legrand for this production . Over a decade later, Legrand composed the music for Streisand's film Yentl . Legrand wrote three songs for this album and worked as arranger and conductor for the recordings of the album. Only in What Now My Love is the arrangement by Ray Ellis. There are only French compositions on the album, and with a few exceptions all of Streisand's songs are sung in French . The Streisand audience was irritated by this, however, and so this production was the greatest failure of Streisand's career. It wasn't until 2002, 36 years after its release, that this album received a gold record .
