Jean-Baptiste Périer

Jean-Baptiste Périer (born April 30, 1871 in La Rochelle , † October 5, 1933 in Saintes ) was a French diplomat .

Life

Jean-Baptiste Périer was married to Élisabeth Romieux; their children together were Philippe and Robert Périer. He attended the Lycée of Rochelle and studied law at the École libre des sciences politiques . From 1900 to 1904 he was an attaché at the legation in London , where he became an economic attaché in 1905.

From 1923 to September 4, 1923 and from November 28, 1928 to 1932, he was Ministre plénipotentiaire in Mexico City .

When Plutarco Elías Calles took office, the diplomat Périer said that the new President of Mexico is a "new edition of the ex-President Porfirio Díaz ".
