Jean-François Roth

Jean-François Roth (born February 1, 1952 ; legal resident in Courtételle ) is a Swiss politician ( CVP ).

Live and act

Jean-François Roth is a lawyer. He represented the canton of Jura from November 30, 1987 to December 16, 1994 in the Council of States . From 1994 to 2006 he was head of the economic department (then: département de l'économie et de la coopération ) Minister of the Canton of Jura. In March 1999, Roth was one of the candidates for the successor to the resigned Federal Councilor Flavio Cotti and achieved a respectable success, as he was only eliminated in the penultimate, fifth ballot .

In November 2007, Roth was appointed President of Switzerland Tourism by the Swiss Federal Council .
