Jean-Louis Cottigny (born September 12, 1950 in Hesdin ) is a French politician of the Parti socialiste .

Cottigny worked as a worker and regional advisor and was chairman of the Joint Arbitration Committee on Labor Matters at the Court of Arras . At the PS he was party secretary for corporate issues, initially in the Pas-de-Calais department , and later at the national level. From 1989 to 2004 he was mayor of Beaurains , since 1992 he has been a member of the General Council of the Pas-de-Calais department. In 1997 he moved to the European Parliament for Bernard Kouchner . Re-election in 1999 failed, but he managed to move back in 2004. In 2009 he left parliament again, before taking up for Estelle Grelier in 2012 , who has moved to the National Assembly .

From July 4, 2012 to June 30, 2014, Cottigny was a member of the Committee on Budgets and a deputy in the Fisheries Committee , in the delegation in the EU-Russia Parliamentary Cooperation Committee and in the Delegation for relations with India . In 2014 he was no longer elected to the European Parliament.
