Jean-Marie-Joseph-Augustin Pasquier OMI (born July 31, 1924 in Saint-Macaire-en-Mauges , † March 7, 2004 ) was a French religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Ngaoundéré .

Life

Jean-Marie-Joseph-Augustin Pasquier joined the congregation of the Huenfeld Oblates and was ordained a priest on February 19, 1950 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on May 29, 1969 auxiliary bishop in Garoua and titular bishop of Muzuca in Byzacena . The Pope personally donated him episcopal ordination on August 1st of the same year ; Co -consecrators were Archbishop Sergio Pignedoli , Secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples , and Emmanuel Kiwanuka Nsubuga , Archbishop of Kampala .

On November 19, 1982 Pope John Paul II appointed him first bishop of the diocese of Ngaoundéré, which was established on the same date . On October 23, 2000, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
