Jean-Michel Moreau
Jean-Michel Moreau (born March 26, 1741 in Paris , † November 30, 1814 in Paris), also called Moreau le jeune , Moreau the Younger , was a French engraver and etcher .
Moreau is one of the most important illustrators of the French Rococo . In over 2,000 works he devoted himself to contemporary and literary topics (illustrations for works by Ovid , Boccaccio , Molière , Rousseau, etc.). According to his templates z. B. Charles Emmanuel Patas, Nicolas DeLaunay, Noël Lemire , Pietro Antonio Martini or later Jean-Baptiste-Blaise Simonet, Remi Henri Joseph Delvaux and Athalie Ribault.
