Jean-Olivier Zirignon

Jean-Olivier Zirignon (born April 27, 1971 in Abidjan ) is a former Ivorian athlete who reached the Olympic finals in 1992 with the relay.

Zirignon advanced to the expanded world elite in 1991 when he reached the semi-finals of both the indoor world championships over 60 meters and the outdoor world championships over 100 meters.

At the 1992 Olympic Games , he was eliminated in the 100-meter run in the quarter-finals. With the Ivorian 4 x 100 meter relay with the line-up Frank Waota , Zirignon, Gilles Bogui and Ouattara Lagazane , he reached the finals and finished eighth in 39.31 seconds. The following year at the World Championships in 1993 Zirignon was eliminated again in the quarterfinals. The season in the line-up of Lagazane, Zirignon, Waota and Ibrahim Meité reached the final and finished seventh in 38.82 s. At the African Championships in 1993 , Zirignon won over 100 meters silver behind the Nigerian Daniel Effiong .

Zirignon ran the fastest time in 1997 in the final of the Games of the Francophone States, when he won in 10.07 s. This time was still a valid Ivorian national record ten years later.

With a height of 1.92 m, Zirignon's competition weight was 94 kg.
