Jean-Paul Flachsmann

Jean-Paul Flachsmann (born January 4, 1936 in Zurich ; † September 27, 2001 in Zug ) was a Swiss entrepreneur and politician ( LdU , SVP ).

Life

Flachsmann studied business administration at the University of St. Gallen and graduated in 1960 with a licentiate . He obtained a PhD in economics from the University of Paris . From 1966 he worked as a management consultant, including at the business administration institute at ETH Zurich . From 1975 to 1978 Flachsmann worked for the LdU in the city council of Zug. In 1995 he was elected to the Cantonal Council of Zug as a candidate for the SVP . In 1999 he was Councilor and took over the Building Department. He was the first SVP member to be elected to a cantonal government in central Switzerland .

Flachsmann was killed in the attack in Zug by Friedrich Leibacher . He is the father of the singer and actress Isabelle Flachsmann .
