Jean-Paul Girres (born January 6, 1961 in Luxembourg ) is a former Luxembourg football player .

Career

society

Girres played for Union Luxemburg , Avenir Beggen and Swift Hesperange between 1977 and 1992 . With Avenir Beggen he was twice Luxembourg champion and cup winner .

National team

Between 1980 and 1992 Girres completed 56 international matches for the Luxembourg national team , in which he scored two goals, one of them on October 31, 1990 in a 2: 3 in the European Championship qualifier against the then world champions Germany .

He played his first game on September 10, 1980 in the 5-0 defeat in the World Cup qualifier against Yugoslavia . His last appearance was on October 28, 1992 in the World Cup qualifier against Russia , which ended in a 2-0 defeat for the Luxembourgers.
