Jean-Pierre Maurin (musician)
Jean-Pierre Maurin (born February 18, 1822 in Avignon , † March 16, 1894 in Paris ) was a French classical violinist and music teacher .
life and work
Maurin was a student of Pierre Baillot and François-Antoine habeneck at the Paris Conservatory . From 1875 he worked as a violin teacher at the same institution. Maurin was an excellent violin soloist and an excellent chamber musician. As a violin teacher, he succeeded Jean-Delphin Alard at the Paris Conservatory.
He was a co-founder of the Société de dernieres quatuors de Beethoven . One of his most famous students was Lucien Capet .
