Johann (Jean) Albert Schwarz (born November 12, 1873 in Frankfurt am Main ; † July 12, 1957 in Mainz-Bretzenheim ) was a German politician at the center .

Life and work

After attending the secondary school in Frankfurt am Main , Schwarz completed the teachers' seminar in Montabaur from 1891 to 1894 . He then worked as a primary school teacher from 1908 as a middle school teacher in Frankfurt am Main. Between 1895 and 1898 he was an elementary school teacher in Arnoldshain before moving back to Frankfurt.

politics

Schwarz, who was a Catholic denomination, was involved in the center and was the organizer of his party in Frankfurt am Main. Schwarz ran for the Center Party in the Reichstag election district Wiesbaden 6 (City of Frankfurt am Main) in the Reichstag election in 1912 and received 5,708 votes or 7.7%. In 1919/20 he was a member of the Weimar National Assembly . He was then a member of the Reichstag until 1933 . He was secretary and member of the board of directors of the Reichstag.

After the seizure of power of the Nazis he created with Eugen Bolz , Thomas Esser and Adam Stegerwald entries and memoranda, which dealt critically with the new rulers. In 1936 he was dismissed from school for political reasons. In 1945 he was one of the founders of the CDU in Frankfurt.
